Max is really busy. He’s planning a birthday party for his grandmother! Everything’s coming together. All that’s left is to buy her a gift: a new coffee maker. He’s going to use his tablet to shop online. Be careful! When you’re buying things online, make sure you go to the site directly yourself. Don’t click on an ad. That way, you know the site is legitimate. To choose, make sure you have a list of exactly what you need. It’s easier! You’ll need to know how much money you have available to spend. This is your budget. With that in mind, you can compare different products and see what you can buy without overspending. You can also compare prices and read reviews from people who bought the products. Who knows, maybe you can find a coffee maker on sale! Once you’ve found the perfect coffee maker, you’ll need your parent to make the purchase. They’ll help make sure that everything’s correct and that nothing fishy’s going on. Together, you can add the gift to your cart and see how long it will take to get delivered. You can usually pay less on delivery fees if you order more ahead of time. Once you select everything, you’ll see the total price of your purchase, including taxes. Max needs to place the order with his parent. To buy something online, you need a credit or debit card, or certain kinds of online accounts. Your parent will be able to enter their payment info, including their name, address and card number. Like you, Maxime knows that this information is confidential, so it needs to stay private. Careful! You might be tempted to check this box so you don’t have to enter the info again for your next purchase, but it’s better not to. If someone else got their hands on the tablet, they could start making purchases using your parent’s card—without their permission. Max and his parent confirm that everything’s good, so they complete the purchase. They’ll be able to see where their package is with their tracking number. Mission accomplished! I’m always happy to help. See you next time! Three days later, Max gets his package. He knows his grandmother is going to love her gift! That Virtual Assistant was sure helpful. Now, back to the finishing touches for the party!
